EU-Menu
Recognizing the importance of nutrition in health promotion, is of the utmost importance to know the food consumption and the nutritional status of the European population, using harmonized methods that will allow comparison between countries.
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has promoted the conduction of the Pan-European Survey (EU-Menu) to know "What's in European Menu?", promoting the development and testing of harmonized instruments and protocols for evaluation of food consumption, in European countries.
Portugal
Portugal, through a national consortium that includes different institutions, is involved in this project (Support to national dietary surveys in compliance with the EFSA Guidance on General principles for the collection of national food consumption data in the view of a pan-European dietary survey (Ref. EFSA CFT/EFSA/DCM/2012/01-CT03)) and is committed to come up with results until October 2016.
